AOAA is having a Large clean up and is asking for Max participation on May 19-20. This is also a big Public Relations event too. They will have large roll off containers on site. Barry said there is already 30 other clubs planning to attend.

Need someone to be the primary point of contact for this weekend/event. I am already committed to TVH. I will be able to provide any information to you and put you in contact with Barry/Jeff.

Please sign up here if you plan to go.

Can this be done on foot? My Jeep is not mission capable now...wanted to check out TVH on foot but I would be more useful at AOAA

Yes on foot, but would still need a means to get from the parking area to the trash.

I have my Ram 1500 but it has "street shoes" can't do trails, and not representing Jeep...could run dirt roads if that is needed

Not recommended unless you don't mind some scratches on the side, as your plenty wide for some trails. But also depends where you get assigned.

I'll also make recommendation to Barry/Jeff to keep all NJJC folks together too.

Its not that the members do not want to attend. Unfortunately this is also the weekend of the club ride to TVH. Many of our members are committed to going there.

TVH will take (if lucky) 11 rigs out of the 125 Paid members on the roster. Figure a few extra passengers/spectators.

That will leave an easy 100 possible membership available to support AOAA. I didn't see any posting going to Tar Hollow, yet.

Out of 100 members, we should be able to get some good representation of NJJC.

Here is the email from Barry:

1st AOAA Clean up
The AOAA will be having it's first clean up of the property weekends. It will be on Saturday and Sunday the 19th and 20th of May.

We will gather at the trailhead site. The groups will go out into the the park collecting trash and cleaning up dump sites . We will have a 30 yd container on site to place all the garbage in. This will be a half and half type event , cleanup in the mornings and trailride and play the second half of the day .

Please let me know if you are planning to attend so we can have a accurate head count .

More info to come , Barry.

Unfortunatly, with 20 people working, you can fill one 30yd dumpster in under an hour and not put a dent in the problem. He needs more than one dumpster.

From the conversation I had with Barry and Jeff this past Saturday, they will have more dumpsters staged at different areas. Plus that chick that was driving the duece n half w/ the dump bed down the trail (and every mud hole she came to) will be hauling it out also.

From what they were talking about her, she can be a real Witch to talk to. But she has always been super motivated to cleaning up the area. She drives the duece into the mud holes and slams the skinny pedal, rocking it back n forth, if she gets stuck, flips the air switch to 6 wheel drive and pulls right out.

Sounds fun! Remember to post up if coming out to this event everybody...

OK, going to pull the plug on this since only one maybe signed up- chalk it up to bad timing and hopefully not a lack of interest in securing our future wheeling! Let's do better on the next one everybody! I will not be going to the cleanup either day that weekend, if somebody else can go great!

Thanks Doug for stepping up to try to run this as representative for NJJC.

Hopefully, NJJC will get involved in other clean-ups.
