  • just in.

I've been told to seam seal & acid prime them.

I was concerned that they were not going to be wide enough-- if anything they are 1" narrower than stock-- should be perfect!

      • LOL-- they are gonna get painted black-- ideally a satin or semi-gloss. I don't think the raw aluminum will hold up to the salt.

        • Your gonna need a high quality etching primer to get paint to sick long term.

Do you have an auto paint supply place near by or an auto parts store that carries paints? They should have what you need.

They look freakin sweet bare aluminum like that, to bad we live in the north east!

          • Yeah-- that's what I'm thinking, too, Pete.

I have a good friend who works in an resto/body shop & owes me a favor or two. He's gonna set me up with some fancy acid primer stuff and spraying it on, too.

He mentioned that they do make something for clear coating aluminum wheels... gotta look into that.

            • Maybe send them out to be powder coated? A clear powder coat would probably hold up well.

                • Those are pretty trick. Maybe match the color of the stock JK flairs and painting them a really dark Grey or black that has been lightened a bit? I don't think the stock flairs even new are black? Your flairs are newer and may still be blacker then most of ours?

Do you plan on replacing the back ones eventually?

                  • Fender off-- checking the fit & look

Took them up to Graveyard Shift Customs for some prep, paint, & seam sealer. "My buddy 'Caddilac Carr' had me body file & then DA them. Effin' body guys! :p

I could use that drivers front fender/sub fender if it is in good shape, would you sell it or both?

The last trip left my baby with a crack and broken subfender.

                      • Ed-- I'll be reusing the inner liner, but you can have the outer.

I am planning on trimming this liner to fit, so if yours will allow me to trim off the broken stuff, we can trade both.

                        Call me when you can

                          • they are still there. :D

Can't decide weather to go white or black. I have to slap one on & let Joanna see it in white primer. She has the final say-- after all, it is HER jeep. ;)

                            • Yeah - she told us how long it stayed as "her" Jeep......

Maybe you should put the color out to club vote..... I'll start. Let's make it a Warthog WannaBe - Paint each of 'em a different color....
