          • gonna be pulling the tub back off the body & putting it on furniture dollys. This will allow 'easy' movement around the garage/driveway.

I hope to be laying some welds on the suspension mounts by this time next week.

I can't wait to drive this thing!

PS-- looking into turbocharging the engine...

                  • Turbo you must have some Ideas what you plan swap the Turbo out of? Are turbo's common on Rock Crawlers? Don't you plan to go slow? thought you had 4 to 1 with torque multiplication won't you have the torque you need? Curious why you decided on a turbo?

gonna want/need more power on the street for climbing hills & stuff.

at low RPM (crawlin') it won't get used (very little load w/ low RPM's).

maintaining 70 on the hills out to Rausch/Shamikin' and shooting some hillclimbs, it will get used alot! :D

I also think it will be easier & better than swapping in a V-8. Not to mention it will be cool-as-hell.

I might be lucky eough to be able to find something out of a production vehicle, but otherwise it'll be a new aftermarket turbo.

Gotta see how it all plays out. First thing is I have to get the frame painted & the body on it.

                      • You gonna go small for quick spool up and less lag or big for more power but deal with the lag?

                            • Paul-- looking for around 8 PSI of boost-- ideally have full boost by 4000RPM. It's gonna take a little experimentation, but I've got a neighbor with a little experience with turbos who wants to be a part of the install. ;)

Ryan-- Yeah, I've been following a thread on that Banks system on Jeep Forum-- they are still waiting for CARB to pass it. 'll build my own before I buy a kit.

                              Turbo'd F-Heads work pretty well. Here's a thread off of EarlyCJ5.com

Tom, please, that will be great!
