    • Nice on progress.
Your xmbr is tapped? The bolts don't slide through and screwed into the adapter?
Like the 1", keep the weight low...lol

      • Thanks Chris.

Dan, the adapter bolts pass through. I have to tap for the outrigger bolts.

Yeah, it's heavy. The hope is it will not bend.

        • Outrigger bolts? I'm not picturing it.
The ends are bushings and the bolt slides through into the brackets on the frame.

                  • Gotcha now I see.
I think your actually better off using bolts that slide through w/ nuts on the top. You already have heads on underside(adapter), what will 3 more hurt. You already tapped it, but I think it would have been easier to not have tapped. different strokes different folks, roll on.

Now lookin at it, you have that much flex off the adapter you need the additional support? I'm pretty much same setup but w/ T18 and my yoke doesn't hit (it did when I first installed too close and raised).

                    • It isn't so much a flex issue as it is a torque issue. The 4:1 in the t-case makes for a ton of torque on the drivetrain stack. I was literally pulling the transmission mount bolts through the 1/4" skidplate. Had to beef that area up to 1/2" & it was still distorting. I am looking to take some stress off that mount by counteracting some of the torque with leverage off the drivelines' center. I am going off the design of Early CJ's, which had a mount on the far passenger side of the T-case.

To take it a step further- a rear output support, like the ones folks use on an Atlas, would really support the driveline well.

                      • You don't need to add a bushing in between to allow some vibrations?

Looks very clean and we'll constructed..

                        • I run a similar setup on my stak with a bushing on the frame as it is mounted seperatly from my xmember. It has eliminated loose bolts on where the tcase mounts up. I think its a necessity in any rig especially a low geared manual trans rig.

You do not need a bushing as its mounted to the xmember and that has bushings on the frame. looking good, the red should scare off scorpions.

                          • Rob, You run or ran a simular setup? LOL

Makes sense with the added torque. I've seen the old school pics with em.

Chris, look at pics higher up, where he cut the section out and put in the 1". The trans/tcase is bolted directly to the xmbr, the bushings are on the ends at the frame. I have same setup since 2002, minus the tcase support.

                            • I saw those but on mine I have those and smaller ones attached to a plate that bolts into the trans. Didn't know if the ones in the end would be enough..
