      Looks great

      Hahaha

      Thanks everyone.

Had a busy weekend fulfilling a promise to Vasyl. We worked all weekend on trussing his front axle and installing a Rock Krawler 2.5" lift. Needless to say, The Barnacle received little attention.

Working on the dash/wiring now. Have three new gauges to install and a new SS dash.

        • Yeah, found the old dash pannel to be pretty rotted and then i saw this. It seems this is turning into a resto-mod.

                • Dan, those are the interior lights.

Larry, only if i can get a set with heaters. If not, the Tiberon seats are going back in.

I think it's also called engine turning.

Funny you mention it Ryan, the idea has crossed my mind and I discussed it with a friend of mine. Apparently it's quite time consuming if you don't have the right setup . Have you done it?

                        • I did it a few years ago on a small piece. Used a 2" scotch pad for what would attach to angle grinder, but put in drill press. Then setup some guides so could keep straight lines. Then scuff, slide about 1.75", scuff, slide, scuff, yes very time consuming. Turned out really sharp for 1st time trying the idea.

                          • Not on anything nice. Used a wire wheel cup in a drill press. Make a Circle, overlap than a bit. Might play with it if i ever get the lj done and i can work on the cj again

                            • No engine turning for me... atleast not right now.

Been busy. Too busy to post pics.

The dash is in and mostly finished wired. I really can't wrap it up until the seats are in and i can layout the locker / winch switch pannel. It will hang off of the cross bar.

Firewall and engine bay are as roughed in as they can be, without fenders. Sold the hardtop & bought a Yellow Top. Got one of those fancy SS battery trays, too.

Brakes are in and plumbed; ready to be bled. Steering columb & shaft is in. Gotta wait until the grille is located before the steering hydro lines & cooler can be plumbed. Had to go with a fancy race pulley. :banghead:

Cutting brake detail. I had to use the flex lines because it attaches to the trans cover and has to be easy to move. It will also be nice to be able to invert the cutting brake cylinder when bleeding

Body mounts are all in and torqued. Upgraded 4 of them to 7/16" grade 8 and the rearmost to 1/2" stainless.

Got to finish freshining up the harness to the rear of the tub. The next big thing is the exhaust in 2.75 stainless.
